This was my first attempt at creating a stylized environment, and it turned out to be a really rewarding challenge! The project gave me the chance to explore a few areas of the production pipeline, including: Modeling (Blender), Texturing (Procreate), Shading, VFX (Niagara), Lighting and the general map setup in UE.
The house was modeled from scratch in Blender, inspired by the beautiful concept art of Angela Hao. I used Procreate to hand-paint some of the textures, like the poster and the entrance board, since I wanted to go more for a stylized feel.
The Lighting was one of my favorite parts of the project and gave me a better understanding of how the whole system works in UE and how the different components influence each other.
The fireflies were a little final touch that gave me an introduction to the Niagara system.
This was also a great opportunity to test my stylized Post-Process shader on a new environment. You can find it available on Fab: https://www.fab.com/listings/adaffb0e-ec10-4f6e-b740-51c9c525fe25
I also want to give credit to the amazing tutorials and asset packs that allowed me to create this environment piece:
